Hello everyone.

I promise to keep this short.

I wanted to write this a few days after we officially hit 10 million subscribers because I wanted to give ourselves and our community time to reflect. I've been writing these updates for the past 5 years, and each time I write them, I reflect upon the size and diversity of our community. We started this subreddit as a way to bring a small piece of kindness to the internet, a small sliver devoid of vitriol or hatred. I daresay we have succeeded here. What we have also succeeded at was something more than anything we ever could have dreamed of. We became part of a bigger movement, a perceptible shift in online interactions, away from cyberbullying crass humor, into one of acceptance, understanding, and inclusion.

We stand proud looking at the small role this subreddit has played, and rejoice with others in our goal to make the internet a bit nicer. 10 million subscribers is just a number, but it reflects the severity and magnitude of people who want to take the time to enjoy content a bit more on the wholesome side.
